Pirin National Park

Bulgaria’s climate is continental, to distinguish the 4 seasons: a wet spring, dry and hot summers, mild autumns and winters cold and snowy. The south is felt the influence of the Mediterranean. This climate allows year-round travel across the country, descubrindo in the wonderful countryside with great charm and a touch of different for each station.
The mountain occupies more than a quarter of the country. Stara Planina or the Balkan Mountains, crosses the territory from east to west, Bulgaria otrogan a mountainous character, indeed an ideal for nature lovers. To the south is dominated by mountains, Rila (with Musalo of 2925 m, the highest peak in the Balkan Peninsula), Pirin and Rodopi. To the north is the largest hollow Bulgaria, the Danubian Plain.
Pirin National Park has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983. Its area is 274 km ², and its height varies around the 1,008 and 2,914 meters above sea level. In it we find two nature reserves: Bayuvi Dupki-Dzhindzhiritsa and Yulen. Read the rest of this entry »
