Those who like to get out and enjoy the wide expanses of the great outdoors will enjoy an adventure in Sweden.  This friendly Scandinavian country offers visitors a wide range of experiences, from the urban activities to rural pursuits.  What’s more, the contrasting seasons mean that very different adventure experiences are possible, depending on whether the holiday is taken in summer or in winter.

The northern climate means that, in winter, Sweden can experience very cold temperatures. However, this does not mean that adventure holidays stop for the season. On the contrary, many of the adventures that one might expect in Scandinavia are particular to a wintry environment, when the snow covers the wide expanses of countryside and the sounds of nature become muffled by the snow on the ground. Many delightfully picturesque scenes can be found in such a winter landscape, and Sweden is a land that, with plenty of wide-open spaces, can present stunning views across a diverse landscape.

When the snow falls, trekking may give way to skiing or even a ride on a snowmobile, adding yet another dimension to the adventure of winter in the north. At the end of the day, it is possible to return from the amazing landscapes and snowy thrills to a log fire and a hot drink, and share tales of adventures in the dark evening and night until the next day comes, full of more adventure.
